Choosing a bag of HRCR coffee by roast level:
Orange label = medium roast
Smooth, balanced body and sweetness
Brown label = medium dark roast
Bold, mellow heavy body
Red label = dark roast
Boldest, slightly bitter
Yellow = light roast
Most sweetness and brightness
Notes:
1) Each country of origin will have unique tasting notes depending on growing conditions and the variety of coffee trees grown.
2) Light to medium roasts will highlight those unique flavors, and darker roasts will have a more uniform boldness with slight origin flavors
3) The research I've done through books and magazines written by coffee industry experts indicates that the simple answer is .... the level of caffeine inside the coffee bean does not change with the roast level.
What's your favorite roast level?
Do you choose unique flavors for black coffee or a bolder flavor that punches through milk?
Or do you want something that just tastes good with a hit of caffeine?
👀👇 Have you tried our latest offerings? ☕️ These two have been delighting our cups this summer.
🇪🇹 Ethiopia Yirgacheffe: a light roast with notes of black tea, raspberry, and peach 🍑
🇵🇬 Papua New Guinea: a medium roast with notes of toffee, raisin, and dried fruit 🍒
✨️PLUS New light roast coming soon!
THANK YOU for an uptick in online orders! To fill them, we need all (four) hands on roastery operations. Stop by to grab a bag and cheer us on. Jane will be back behind the bar tomorrow!
